Your Design
Not many people get the opportunity to design their own dream house, but you can design your own dream Garden Room and because uniqueness can’t be delivered by standard designs we don’t have any standard rooms. So how do you design your own dream Garden Room?
Step One – Agree the budget
The first step in the design process is to decide on the budget, every project has a limit on spend and will require balancing size, materials and finishes to make the budget stretch to deliver the most. Based on the budget we will develop a simple Cost Plan to monitor and inform all design choices. The design to cost process is basically the same whether, for a hospital, school, luxury house or garden room, the team at Exeter Garden Rooms have years of experience in this process and can guide the client, so there is no nasty surprise or disappointment when the design is beyond the budget. If the room needs Planning or Building Control approval we will identify and advise you at this stage and where necessary make the applications once the design is completed
Step Two – Produce the design vision
This is the exciting stage where you can search the internet for ideas and styles alternatively, we can provide images and ideas for you to peruse, there is nothing wrong with taking ideas from various designs to make your own unique room. Once you have the vision, we will determine how best to build it, if necessary, we will have any structural details checked by a qualified engineer.
Step Three – Selecting Materials and Finishes
The materials used can help make that design statement you are looking for but equally, they can have a big cost impact, we will work with you to deliver the vision at the most economic cost by focusing on the elements important to the vision and saving cost on those that are secondary. The internal finishes and location of fixtures and fittings can also be selected at this stage and the cost can be confirmed.
Step Four – The 3D Model
At this stage we will complete the 3D model of your design, this will demonstrate the size and show the finishes internally and externally.

At this stage any details that may need amending can easily be made. If desired the 3D image can be inserted into a photo of the proposed location, showing graphically what the completed Garden Room will look like in-situ.

The Build – Transforming the model to reality
The 3D model will include all the elements necessary to build the room, we will literally have built the room virtually before we start the build. All the key components will be dimensioned and ordered from the model. In this way what you approve in the 3D model will be included in the final room.
All we have to do then is build your dream Garden Room.
